equitable education requires vigilant advocates.

Every child deserves a strong start—no matter their zip code.

A great education opens doors, yet too many students are held back by unequal access and outdated systems. In Brockton, we need bold, experienced, and ethical leadership to fight for every student’s future.

Jorge is that leader.

As a proven advocate for equity and excellence, he’s ready to put Ward 1 and all of Brockton first. With your support, we can build a school system where every one of our children has the chance to thrive. Jorge is focused on:

  • Making strategic and sustainable fiscal decisions
  • Crafting inclusive school policies that serve all Brockton families
  • Attracting and retaining excellent educators
  • Partnering with community groups that put Brockton students first
  • Bolstering safety and security at all schools

With your support, we can build a school system where every one of our children has the chance to thrive.

“I can’t think of anyone more qualified than Jorge. He is more than a leader, he’s also a dedicated father and educator. He wants the best for the children of Brockton and isn’t afraid to fight for them.”

experienced Leadership for Brockton Schools

Jorge Vega is a seasoned educator, community leader, and proud Brockton parent, bringing almost 30 years of experience in K–12 education—including 16 years in school administration—to his role as Ward 1’s School Committee representative. Having taught and led in public, private, and charter schools across both urban and suburban settings, Jorge offers a broad and inclusive perspective on what educational excellence looks like.

His commitment to Brockton runs deep: as a father of three BPS-educated children—including both a Cornell graduate and a sophomore at Tufts—he understands firsthand the transformative power of strong public schools. Jorge has served as the Communication Liaison for the BHS School Council and Chair of the Brockton Public Library Board of Trustees, where he’s built bridges between schools, families, and community organizations.

In a time when Brockton demands safer, fully staffed schools and renewed academic strength, Jorge leads with purpose, always asking “why” before “how,” and working to ensure every voice in Ward 1 is heard and valued. With your support, we can be one ward, one voice, and one step closer to the schools our children deserve.
